Inauguration in 1979
1979: The airport was inaugurated by the Société d'aménagement de l'Outaouais to promote the region’s economic development;
Rights of the Establishment
1991: The rights of the establishment are transferred by the Government of Quebec to the former City of Gatineau;
Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport Corporation
2004: Two years after the municipal merger, the City of Gatineau created the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport Corporation, managed by a Board of Directors, and invested $2.7 million in the revitalization of the airport.
The Airport Corporation is the general and special agent responsible for the management, promotion and operation of the airport.
International Hub for Training
2022: The airport becomes an international hub. Future airplane and helicopter pilots are trained at the airport site. The same year saw the start of construction of the new taxiway parallel to the airport. This is an important step towards increasing the efficiency and safety of aircraft traffic, both on the ground and in the air.
