The Gatineau Airport
The Gatineau Airport is one of the region's strategic infrastructures. The site is a hub for economic development and diversification, as much for its role as a training center as for its role as a host to charter, executive and military flights. Over $13.1 million was invested in the "Pôle de formation" project between 2021 and 2023, in addition to private investment in the construction of five new hangars.
The airport also acts as an attractive factor for students from Canada and abroad, with the establishment of a high-level flight school. It's a structuring project and an essential element in the economic development of the Ville de Gatineau, generating economic spin-offs of over $21 million annually.
What's more, the Corporation de l'Aéroport de Gatineau manages a number of sites that can attract a variety of aeronautical-related businesses. The airport is also an employer of choice, offering some 100 full-time, part-time and seasonal jobs (direct and indirect).
