Upgrade at the Gatineau Airport

It was last October and in the presence of several members of the Board of Directors of the Gatineau Airport and dignitaries including Steve MacKinnon, Member of Parliament for Gatineau and Robert, Member of the National Assembly for Gatineau, the symbolic groundbreaking of the construction of the new taxiway parallel to the airport. This is an important step towards increasing the efficiency and safety of aircraft traffic on the ground and in the air.

Until then, the airport had only one lane of traffic, which severely limited its development plans. It was thanks to a budget of $8.65 million, provided by the governments of Canada, Quebec and the City of Gatineau, that work began. Other work is also planned under this envelope enhanced by the Municipality and Investissement et Développement Gatineau.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of the summer, when Transport Canada is scheduled to certify the taxiway. Stay tuned for developments related to this important project.
