About Us

In 1979, Gatineau airport was inaugurated by the Société d’aménagement de l’Outaouais to help promote the region’s economic growth.

In 1991, the Quebec Government transfers ownership to the former city of Gatineau. In 2004, two years after the municipal merger, the new City of Gatineau  approves an airport development plan by investing $2.7 million,  and by creating the Société de l’Aéroport Exécutif Gatineau-Ottawa, managed by a Boardof Directors.

The Corporation, as per an agreement with the City of Gatineau, is the agent and decision-maker for the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport. Its responsabilities are to manage, promote, and operate the airport, as well as planning its development.

The Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport geographic location offers great development potential.  Close to highway 50 and only twenty minutes from Gatineau-Ottawa’s main roads, the airport spreads over 142 hectares of land. The runway is  1828.80 meters by 45.72 meters (6,000 feet x 150 feet) oriented East-West (09-27).

The airport ID codes are:
ICAO: CYND
IATA: YND

In 2010, the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport  saw close to 49,000 movements, which places this airport as the busiest in terms of movements in Canada for its category. .
